Tiles, Veesy edition: bringing Veesy Desk to real life

When we first launched the Tiles collection, the modules came only in matte black and white.

It was a deliberate choice to make things manageable as we were just starting out.

But the black/white sets didn’t fully express the original intent behind Tiles — a system designed for sketching tools, creative workflows, and the small rituals that make work feel good.

So when we released the Spring Colors edition earlier this year, something clicked.

Color didn’t just brighten Tiles — it made the system feel more expressive, more playful, more human. And I immediately knew I wanted to explore this direction further.

That’s exactly when a message from Massimiliano, co-founder of Veesy arrived.

The Random Discovery

I didn’t know Veesy at the time.

When I looked them up, I found a creative community and ecosystem built specifically for digital freelancers and creatives — exactly the kind of people we imagined using Tiles. That alone made me curious.

We scheduled a videocall.

Massi told me about the Veesy Desk, their digital bento-style workspace that helps creatives structure their online environment with intention and clarity. Their community loved it — but the physical desks of many users didn’t reflect the same calm and organization.

They wanted to bring the feeling of the Veesy Desk into the physical world.

And when Massi discovered Tiles, everything aligned for him:

“One day, on Instagram, I came across the work of Things Designs.
I was blown away.
Their desk Tiles were exactly what I had in mind: the same bento philosophy, but brought into the physical world.”

Honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better.

So here we are.

We combined their digital soul with our handcrafted one. We took Veesy’s signature color palette — and applied it to our iconic modular, magnetic Tiles collection.

The result isn’t just an organizer.
It’s the physical Veesy Desk.

The same sense of clarity you feel using Veesy online, now grounded in the real world.

It’s the clack of a magnet snapping into alignment.

Minimal Forms, Maximal Color

Tiles are naturally minimal: clean forms, geometric consistency, quiet modular logic.

But the Veesy palette added something new — a joyful vibrancy that fit perfectly with the direction I was already looking to explore.

It didn’t feel like redesigning Tiles.
We weren’t creating a new product — we were building a bridge.

Sometimes the idea already exists — it just needs the right people to connect it.
